We are incredibly excited to announce that Expedition Eelgrass has been awarded a Major Grant from the Royal Canadian Geographical Society!
The RCGS was founded in 1929 to promote greater knowledge and appreciation of Canada’s natural and cultural geography. According to the RCGS website, Major Grants are awarded “to projects that are deemed to have a strong combination of adventure, enhancement to geographic appreciation of Canada and its people, and a solid outreach component.” Only around five of these grants are given out in an average year, so to have received one is a huge honor.
